BASIC EQUIPMENT

1.   Kart, there are numerous makes of kart at various new and second-hand prices;

2.   A set of Slick tyres appropriate for your class (remember different classes have different tyres);

3.   A set of Wet tyres appropriate for your class;

4.   Crash helmet conforming with MSA rule Q10 (you will receive the MSA Rule book with your ARKS pack;

5.   Heat and flame resistant race suit complying with accepted homologation;

6.   Karting shoes that cover the whole foot and ankle;

7.   Karting gloves;

8.   Neck-brace (optional) but advised;

9.   A selection of tools.   Remember karts use hex bolts and heads.   Nylock nuts are also commonly used;

10.   A selection of sprockets (for gearing fixed gear karts);

11. A selection of chains;

12. A foot pump;

13. A tyre pressure gauge;

14.   A selection of spark plugs (for cold and hot running);

15. A bead breaker (to aid changing tyres);

16. A kart stand (when working on your kart);

17. A fuel can;

18. A fuel mixing jug (karts run on a petrol/oil mixture);

19. A selection of carburettor jets;

20. A rubber headed mallet;
