Supplementary Regulations
2010


The Jersey Kart & Motor Club (JK&MC) will organise a closed Permit Kart Race Meeting at Sorel Point Kart Circuit, Sorel Point, St John.

(1) The meeting will be held under the General Regulations of the MSA(incorporating the provisions of the International Sporting Code of the FIA), the Supplementary Regulations and any written instructions issued by the Jersey Kart & Motor Club.

(2) The circuit measures 458 metres long by 6.2 metres wide, has 4 corners and the surface is of tarmacadam.

(3) All competitors must be card holding members of the organising Club and, at the discretion of the Jersey Kart & Motor Club, any visiting driver holding a valid MSA Kart licence and paying the appropriate entry fee.

(4) The maximum entry for the event is …N/A…the minimum is (1) per class. The maximum permitted for each race is sixteen (16) competitors.

(5) All competitors must produce a valid competition licence and current Club membership card when signing on.

(6) The event is a round of the (Closed) Jersey Championship.

(7) The event schedule will be as follows:-

(8) Any competitor not signed on by 08.30 will suffer a "late entry penalty”, ie:- Back of the grid for the meeting, and 2 points deducted from your Marshal Points Scheme.

(9) Time permitting, there will be three (3) heats and a final per class though.

(10) At least one full rolling lap must be completed prior to the start of the race.

(11) Each competitor must take part in a practice of (a minimum) of three (3) laps prior to racing commencing.

(12) The event is open to all classes described in the MSA Kart Race Yearbook for which the circuit is licensed i.e. up to 125cc.

(13) Entries open upon publication of the Supplementary Regulations and completed entry forms together with the entry fee (as shown in 15, below) must be forwarded by 15 days prior to the event to:

NB: Entries will not be accepted to the Race Secretary without full fee and completed entry forms. (Except under specific circumstances made known to the Race Secretary prior to the closing date).

(14) Any entries after this time will be classed as a (late) entry. Failure to comply with this will mean double entry fee charged on the day (See 29).

(15) The entry fee for 2010 is £37.50 per event for Seniors and £27.50 for Cadets and Juniors. Entry on race day (late entry) will be charged double. The fee for ARKS application holders will be 50% of the race entry fees.

NB: Cancellation prior to the closing date will have their entries refunded in full. Entries after the closing date will be refunded as follows:-
· At least 3 days prior to day of event - £15 refund
· 3 days or less prior to day of event -  £10 refund
· no notification of cancellation         –   no refund
(Except under the discretion made known to the Race Secretary)

(16) All protests must be lodged in accordance with O5.1 of the MSA Competitors’ Yearbook and accompanied by the appropriate fee.

(17) Grid positions for heats will be determined by reference to an acceptable formula but Novice drivers will start from the back of the grid. Starting positions for finals will be determined by accumulated points gained from the three (3) heats.

(18) All starts will be “rolling” except 125cc open which be “standing” according to the decision of the Clerk of the Course.

(19) A noise measuring device may be in place and any competitor whose Kart is found to be outside the noise limit may be excluded from the event.

(20) Random breathalyser will be in place and used at the discretion of an official of the club Zero tolerance will be adhear to, as per MSA Regulation.

(21) A Cadet competitor will be allowed one “helper” during racing or practice but this person must sign on prior to the event commencing; supplied coloured bibs must be worn.The signed on helper is only permitted in the restricted parc ferme arrear during Cadet practice and racing only

(21a) The Hairpin Corner area will be a restricted parc ferme area with restricted access.

 

(22) If a Kart breaks down during racing/practice it must be returned with a dead engine to the pits as quickly as possible after racing ceases under the Clerk of Course instructions only. Any competitor who does not comply with this may be excluded from the remainder of the event. At no time must any Kart drive the wrong direction back to the pits.

(23) At the end of racing/practice, Karts must be driven into dummy grid area at a cautionary speed.

(24) Engines must be switched off before entering pit area. At NO time must Karts be driven in the pit area.

(25) Fuel containers containing fuel must be clearly marked. The use of approved containers as per MSA Kart Race Yearbook.

(26) Fire Extinguishers All drivers must have present at race meeting a fire extinguisher, in accordance with MSA Kart Race Yearbook B15.

(27) Cancellation Up to 50% of the entry fee may be retained for event/
administration costs if the event does not start. Once the meeting has commenced then all monies will be retained.

These marshalling commitments will be monitored by both race secretaries of the JMC&LCC & JK&MC.
Also enclosed is a programme of events.

(29) Any “late” entry that is accepted will start from the back of the grid for the 3 heats. You will be deducted 2 points from your Marshal Points Scheme. Claiming non-receipt of the final instructions will not be accepted.

(30) Penalties. Competitors are reminded that if you are given specific instructions for jobs to be carried out on the day and you fail to adhere to these then you may be penalised for non-compliance as agreed at the AGM.
